The Bandido Charlie Association is a FREE Association. There are no fees or dues charged for membership. The Officers of this Bandido Charlie Association are not paid. The Officers are not reimbursed for their equipment and software used.
The only way this Association has to raise funds is to ask for donations. The Bandido Charlie Editor, Ron "Mack" Mackedanz, would like to be able to mail copies of our Bandido newsletter to the active duty men of our Bandido Charlie Company. The ad-free space on the server used for this web site or the domain name (www.bandidocharlie.org) is not free. Communication with other Bandidos who do not have computers is by snail-mail only, which is not free. There are costs involved with an Association. And the next time our Bandidos are sent to Iraq the 16th Infantry Regiment may desire that we take care of our own with our own Care packages for the men of Bandido Charlie in Iraq.
Last year Catherine Ludlow and Janeen Thompson raised funds and collected items and sent them to the men of our 1st Platoon who were isolated from the rest of the Company. The next time the Company is sent to Iraq we will need more help than just two wonderful ladies taking the brunt of all the work involved as we will probably be expected to support the entire Bandido Charlie Company.
We cannot not wait until the men are in Iraq to begin raising the funds to support them with Care packages and newsletters. We must begin now while we have the time. Any donation, and I mean ANY donation, will help.
The following is a note from Joe Calhoun who is heading up efforts to increase support and increase membership participation for our Bandido Association.
"O.K. guys and gals. We all need to share this load. All contributions will be greatly appreciated. By the time we all get to Washington this summer, we'll barnstorm some fund-raising ideas. In the meantime, while thinking about ways to raise some money, everyone send a check to Al and Betty in Oregon. If anyone has ideas on raising money, send to Sis at marianm@aristotle.net. See everyone in Washington."
Joe Calhoun
